At Though Group Chile, we organized the International Contest for Architecture and Urbanism Students (ICAUS). This contest is unique as it goes beyond architecture and urbanism – it also encompasses the strength of the heart, soul, spirit, passion, and human compassion. The aim is to contribute to the rebuilding of Ukraine through the city of Irpin.

After the outbreak of war in Ukraine, the IRS (Irpin Reconstruction Summit) Foundation, established by the city of Irpin to promote and fund reconstruction projects, commissioned us to organize an international competition for architecture and urbanism students. With the support of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology and the Territorial Intelligence Center of Adolfo Ibáñez University, we launched the competition titled "City of Irpin: Future Horizon."

The objective of this international competition is to develop a creative and innovative conceptual vision for reconstructing a city that has been devastated by the Russian army's invasion. We sought proposals that were free from professional and economic constraints, with the aim of inspiring a new era for Irpin.

Students were encouraged to envision a new city rising from the ashes like a phoenix, deeply rooted in its customs and traditions. The vision was for a city that respects and protects its natural environment, is sustainable, ecological, and aims to be a happy city—a place of life, work, rest, leisure, culture, well-being, and peace.
